Objetives

To achieve the overall objective of this project, further advancement of current scientific and technical developments is necessary. The correct integration and coordination of these technologies can offer new solutions for a global intelligent and sustainable transport system.

The objectives can be enumerated as follows:

  1. develop a conceptual model of urban mobility that promotes sustainable transport;
  2. design and develop a distributed technology platform for connectivity and computing that can support the management and regulation of the mobility system as a whole, providing security and traceability mechanisms at all times;
  3. investigate and develop techniques to ensure the efficient use of transport infrastructures as well as prioritization mechanisms of infrastructure resources to promote more sustainable means of transport;
  4. investigate and develop techniques that allow for the creation of collaborative transportation services to perform various tasks with an efficient use of resources;
  5. develop novel algorithms to facilitate the creation of new transportation services that can be integrated into the proposed general framework.
  6. All these aspects will be addressed and analyzed in the present project from a theoretical point of view. Furthermore, they will be applied in two demonstrators that intend to evaluate their viability. The obtained results will be disseminated and an exploitation plan will be established to allow for the development and commercialization of new technological products based on the results obtained in the project.
